David Malone

David Malone David has 18 years’ experience of working in the Further Education sector and is passionate about education for all.

He has a wealth of experience in senior management, strategic planning and cultural transformation, as well as being a life-long teacher at heart.

David began his career in Performing Arts as a performer, as well as owning his own theatre company. It was during this period that David found his passion for education and retrained as a teacher. Over the next 18 years, he went on to manage departments and faculties before moving into senior management.

Having supported his previous colleges to achieve Good and Outstanding judgments by Ofsted, he is excited to be leading the Calderdale College community through the next chapter of its journey.

John Rees

John Rees John joined Calderdale College as Principal and Chief Executive in April 2015. John has worked in the further education sector for the past 20 years in a variety of lecturing, management and leadership roles.

He is passionate about linking skills development to employment and he joined Calderdale to continue the College’s commitment to high value skills development and career progression for its students.

Prior to moving to Calderdale College, John was the Group Deputy Principal at Warwickshire College Group. John lives in Halifax with his wife and two children.
