Helen Loftus |
Helen Loftus is the principal for Chichester College, taking up the role in August 2022 after serving as interim principal for the previous two years. She has worked in further education since 2000, progressing through various senior leadership roles within Chichester College and Chichester College Group. During her time in the sector, she has developed and honed her expertise with a focus on apprenticeships, adult skills and higher education – her passion for ensuring everyone can access education at all levels shining through. Alongside her work at the college, Helen is a board member at a number of organisations including the Sussex Council of Private Training Providers, where she champions access to high-quality training opportunities, and the Sussex Learning Network: Uni Connect, which works to maximise progression opportunities to higher education and training for all students. Helen also sits on the Department for Education’s advisory committee for apprenticeships, and works closely with schools across the district – serving as a governor at two of the local schools. Helen has a passion for linguistics, completing her bachelor’s degree in languages and master’s degree in applied linguistics. She has put these to the test, having worked in Spain and Italy as well as developing and leading teacher training programmes for Anglia Examinations in Holland and Thailand. |
