As Deputy CEO & Principal of Leeds City College, he is responsible for the quality of provision across the Luminate Education Group (which, as well as Leeds City College, includes Harrogate College, Keighley College, The White Rose Academy Trust and Leeds College of Music). He leads on all aspects of provision and performance for Leeds City College. Prior to coming to Leeds, he worked at The Sheffield College for six years as a member of the executive team and he has worked in education for 25 years, starting his career as a teacher of English at East Birmingham College. He is a family man and lives in Derby with his wife and three children but resides in Leeds mid-week. He has a Master’s Degree in Education and a PGCE. Previous Principals/CEOsColin BoothPrior to joining Leeds City College, Colin was Principal of Barnsley College for seven years where he steered the college to an Ofsted rating of outstanding. He has worked in the further education sector for over 30 years; his background is as a teacher and manager in Skills for Life and provision for students with disabilities or learning difficulties. He has also worked as a part-time inspector for Ofsted and the Adult Learning Inspectorate. Colin was awarded an OBE for services to further education in the Queen’s 2015 New Year Honours list. |
