Celine has extensive experience as a public sector manager. She has led professional teams for over 25 years in service areas including Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, Audit, Learning and Development, Estates Management and Customer Services within the local government and further education sectors. In 2015, Celine was appointed MBE for services to further education in the Queen’s New Year Honours List. She holds an MBA and a number of other academic qualifications, and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland (FCA) and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel Development (MCIPD). Celine has previously held a public appointment on the Management Committee of the NI Local Government Officers Superannuation Committee and has served on the Governing Bodies of the Loreto Grammar School and Omagh North Nursery School. Prior to working in the Education sector, Mr McAlister worked in the Construction Industry and is a Chartered Construction Engineer, a Chartered Project Manager and a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers. He is a member of the Institute of Knowledge Exchange and the Chartered Institute of Building. He has served on a number of sectoral bodies related to the development of Foundation Degree models and is a former Chair of the Board of the Regional Support Centre for Northern Ireland. |
Ms McCartan has been Principal & Chief Executive of South West College since September 2022.
Michael McAlister has been Chief Executive of South West College since September 2017. He joined the FE Sector in 1987 as a lecturer in the Built Environment and since then has held a number of senior roles within South West College, and the former Omagh College, including Deputy Chief Executive, Deputy Director for Curriculum and Business Development and Head of Technology Department.
