ADULT education provider, ACL Essex, has welcomed a new Principal, Lisa Jarentowski, who has worked in the adult community learning and further education sectors for over twenty years, and has experienced adult learning from both sides of the classroom. After kickstarting her working life in the library service, Lisa quickly realised she had a passion for helping others, often aiding students with research and homework, or assisting people to send emails or search the internet. Deciding to pursue a teaching career, Lisa signed-up to a series of ICT adult community courses alongside literacy and numeracy courses, which enabled her to become a full-time lecturer and complete her teaching qualifications. She went on to teach all age groups, teaching courses on functional Maths skills, GCSE Maths, computing, digital skills and more. Lisa joins the team at ACL Essex following a post as Interim Assistant Principal Technical & Professional Education at Barking & Dagenham College. |
