I’m an experienced senior executive and have worked in a range of organisations including Education, Health, ICT, Government, Nuclear, Energy and Utilities and as Chairman of Sellafield Employees charities fund. Also a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the British Computer Society and Degree qualified.
Achievements are as follows:
- Supporting at Board level in Business and ICT/ Digital Strategy development and delivery
- Led, defined and executed a range of large complex change programmes, including cost and people efficiencies in BNFL, outsourcing of ICT services, The systems and privatisation of the Scottish Power business, establishing shared services, process re-engineering and an NHS site’s move to Trust status
- Programme managed large complex infrastructure projects and programmes including £150m plus government procurements, ICT and Digital projects, Infrastructure projects
- Business development and marketing within educational context
- Delivered ICT and infrastructure services for the Nuclear industry ensuring high availability and levels of service from a critical infrastructure with a high attention to safety, cyber security in a complex setting.
- Ability to work with stakeholders effectively and quickly establishing partnerships and ways of working effectively.

My current brief is to establish and consolidate the National College for Nuclear as a viable operation and centre of excellence for education and to provide employer leadership at a national level in respect of the Government Industrial strategy and in meeting industry skills gaps.
This is also to provide a proposition for the College to Learners, UK industry partners, new prospective Education providers and to Central Government.
