Denise Williamson
Denise Williamson was appointed Principal of West Lancashire College in June 2017 having previously held the positions of Director of Quality and Support and Interim Principal after joining the college in January 2016. Prior to this, she was Assistant Principal at Warrington Collegiate for 12 years. |
Christian became Principal at West Lancashire College in July 2025 after his time as Vice Principal at Carlisle College from 2021 and has worked in education since 2004. Prior to this, his career saw him spend 8 years in the Chemical Industry working for a large multinational corporation. Christian studied Sport Science at Liverpool John Moores University, before gaining a PGCE and Masters in Education at the University of Huddersfield. He then taught as a Sport and UPS lecturer in Yorkshire, progressing to Curriculum Lead, then Head of Faculty for multiple curriculum areas including Teacher Education. Christian is passionate about helping young people get the best start and has also worked with the probation service, youth offenders, and disengaged young people.
Since joining NCG in 2004, Lisa has enjoyed working in a number of roles from classroom support and teaching to management and leadership, before progressing into the role of Assistant Principal at Newcastle College in 2021 and more recently to Deputy Principal of West Lancashire College in January 2024. She is experienced in curriculum planning, with enhanced knowledge of the Health and Care sector, as well as having an extensive understanding of quality improvement. Across 18 years of service Lisa has witnessed significant change in the College and the FE sector as a whole and has had the privilege of witnessing the progress and development of countless numbers of students fulfilling their potential and realising their ambitions. She understands the profound impact our College has on the communities it serves, supporting individuals to develop their skills and talents and strengthening the prosperity of our local area.
